2-Pound Mass Loaded Vinyl is our heavy-duty acoustic barrier for demanding soundproof builds. This high-mass, non-rigid acoustical membrane boosts isolation under the Mass Law without altering framing or adding structural rigidity. Available in a 4' × 25' roll (100 sq ft), it is lead-free, odor-free, and Class-A fire rated — cut to size, fasten with screws, butt seams, and vinyl-tape seal for best results.
- High-Mass Barrier: 2 lb/ft² at ¼" thick mass-vinyl blocks sound transmission — including troublesome low-frequency rumble — and boosts isolation when layered with insulation and drywall.
- Flexible & Durable: Low-stiffness vinyl construction resists tearing and maintains consistent acoustic performance over time — clean cuts, tight seams, and reliable long-term integrity.
- Straight-Forward Attachment: Hang as a continuous membrane over studs or a channel system. Fasten with screws and washers, butt seams, and pair with vinyl seam tape to preserve acoustic continuity.
- Fire & Health Compliance: Lead-free, odorless, non-fibrous; Class-A (ASTM E84) surface burn. Remains flexible without drying or cracking over decades of service.
