Foil-faced seam tapes seal Insulated Foil MLV and foil-backed acoustic underlay under finished flooring. Vinyl seam tape isn't used on foil-faced floor underlay — the two Foil options below cover every floor seam.

Acoustical sealing tapes — what each one seals
Acoustical seal tapes effectively damp sound and vibration. The high-tack adhesive backing adheres tightly to your soundproofing surfaces — apply acoustical seam tape over soundproof barrier seams to reduce sound leaks between rooms.
- Vinyl Seal Tape — 2" x 150' rolls
- Heavy-duty, very tacky seam tape used when soundproof barrier seams land on the face of the wall studs. Vinyl seam tape prevents buckling of the soundproof barrier seams before drywall is installed.
- Foil Seam Tape — 2.5" x 150' rolls, self-adhering
- Used for acoustically sealing stud and joist seams in soundproof barrier and all floor underlayments. Foil seam tape keeps the seams working as a vapor barrier in flooring applications over concrete.
- Reinforced Foil Tape — 3" x 150' rolls
- Used with acoustical pipe wrap. This tape will not tear and maintains the vapor barrier requirement on HVAC and plumbing pipes, fan boxes, and ducts.
