PAC International RSIC-SI-CRC EZ

The RSIC-SI-CRC EZ is a ceiling-only spring isolation hanger for suspended gypsum ceilings. It mounts to wood or steel structure and supports a 1 1/2 in, 16-gauge cold-rolled steel carrier channel. Standard 7/8 in drywall furring channels are then tied or screwed across that carrier grid, creating a spring-isolated ceiling below the structure. PAC lists it for ceilings — for a resilient wall, specify the applicable tested wall design instead. It ships fully assembled and precalibrated, in color-coded load versions that must be selected for the tributary ceiling load at each hanger.

  • Suspends a CRC carrier grid: The EZ clip receives 1 1/2 in x 1/2 in x 1 1/2 in, 16-ga cold-rolled channel (SSMA 150U050-54). Drywall furring channel then crosses the CRC — it does not snap into this clip.
  • Spring deflection, not rubber: Total deflection is 1 in with double deflection of +/- 1/2 in, giving substantially more isolation travel than an ordinary rubber isolation clip.
  • Calibrated load versions: Yellow 5 lb, White 10 lb, Blue 20 lb, Green 30 lb (installation guide), Red 40 lb, Silver 80 lb. The rating is selected per hanger for its calculated tributary load.
  • Adjustable and preassembled: Ships fully assembled and precalibrated with up to 6 in of adjustment, for sloped, uneven or deeper cavities from about 1 in minimum (wood) to 9 in maximum.
  • Engineered ceilings: For engineered suspended gypsum ceilings in studios, theaters, gyms and multifamily or commercial rooms — not a simple residential retrofit clip.

Built for ceilings. Quantity is laid out off the actual support grid: carrier runs of 1-1/2 in, 16-ga CRC across the ceiling, with spring hangers along each run. Both directions max out at 48 in on center.

The final count comes off a reflected ceiling plan, not off area: plot the real carrier runs and hanger positions, keep both directions at or under 48 in, keep the first drywall support less than 8 in from the perimeter, stagger hangers where possible, and add hangers or blocking at boundaries, openings and nonstandard dimensions. PAC directs nonstandard room dimensions to a professional engineer.
