PAC International Clips

PAC International RSIC-1

The PAC International RSIC-1 is a resilient sound isolation clip that separates drywall from framing to divert vibration away from adjacent rooms. It pairs with standard 7/8" hat channel on wood or light-gauge steel and installs quickly across walls and ceilings — including tight retrofit conditions.

  • Proven Decoupling: Suspends furring channel on a flexible mount to create a controlled break in the structure, limiting sound-energy transfer through the assembly.
  • Low-Profile Build-up: Compact dimensions enable acoustic upgrades without altering framing layouts or reducing interior floor area — ideal for retrofits and dimensional constraints.
  • Installer-Friendly: Pre-aligned mounting points and a straightforward channel attachment method keep clip spacing precise while reducing on-site labor.
  • High-Load Capacity: Balances support with calibrated flex so the clip carries significant system weight without sacrificing acoustic isolation.

Estimated STC — Planning use only

This value is an approximate assembly projection, not a project-specific assessment, certified laboratory test result or performance guarantee. Actual performance varies with the complete assembly, installation, flanking paths, penetrations and site conditions.

Estimates follow the manufacturer's standard clip and hat-channel layout for walls and ceilings. A 10% coverage buffer is recommended to cover cuts and re-work.

What the score means
  • STC 30-39: Loud speech clearly audible next room.
  • STC 40-49: Loud speech muffled — normal residential wall.
  • STC 50-59: Loud speech barely audible; suitable for offices & multi-family.
  • STC 60+: Approaches studio-grade isolation.

FAQ

RSIC-1 — Common Questions

Maintain a 1/4" perimeter gap between drywall and adjoining surfaces (floor, ceiling, intersecting walls), then seal with acoustic sealant on both faces. Never let drywall, trim, or fasteners contact the framing directly — that shorts out the resilient path.
